Center for Integrated Research In Conflict Archaeology

CIRCA is finally up and running!It’s taken some time behind the scenes to get CIRCA running, but we are very excited that things are finally coming together. I am super excited to have our first cohort of Research Fellows for 2025-2027. Please help us welcome: Jo Ball, Hellen Basson, Matthew Kalos, Richard Leese, Euan Loarridge, and Joseph Snider. You can read more about their impressive backgrounds on our updated website (https://conflictarchaeology.org/team/).  We also have started bringing on board some Advisory Members. Ideally I would like to have another 2-3 advisors so if you are interested, please visit https://conflictarchaeology.org/apply/ for more information about the three year appointment. Ideally we are looking for someone who can meet virtual a few times a year to help set the goals for CIRCA for next year, to help mentor our Research Fellows, and to help us grow our membership.   Next Steps for CIRCA: Creating a Research Repository One of CIRCA’s goals is to create an online hub of research, grants, field schools, and all things conflict related. I have a place holder webpage up, but it needs lots more information to truly be useful. Check out the Resources page for the link to upload any items you have to share. Please make sure you have permission to share publicly.  Fundraising Help ensure CIRCA’s future! Consider a tax deductible donation or corporate/organizational sponsorship. As a sponsor we will list you or your logo on our website and our printed materials as a thank you. Or help us spread the word to increase our membership. Here are some other easy ways you can help us grow CIRCA: Photos!! Do you have some great field photos, artifact images, historical images, maps, or anything visual that helps tell the story of Conflict Archaeology you could share for use on our website, printed materials, social media? Please email them toinfo@conflictarchaeology.org and provide a short description of what you’ve sent. Upcoming events – Do you have a conference, field school, project, job, volunteer opportunity you would like to highlight, please let me know and I’ll share it with our subscribers and post it to the website. Content – Do you have something cool to share? Please send articles, notes, or anything else that I can include in future newsletters to highlight the work being done all over the world.
